Klaus Werner-Lobo was born in Salzburg in 1967. After having completed alternative national service in 1986 he moved to Vienna to study ecological biology, and Romance and German filology (diploma). The Austrian Federal Chamber of Commerce appointed him to handle international media at the 1992 Sevilla World's Fair. In 1993 he embarked on a career in journalism, writing as a freelancer for the news magazine profil and the business journal trend (main focus on political affairs and business).

For five years from 1995, Klaus was press spokesman of the Austrian Institute for Applied Ecology. He created and supervised the magazines Kontexte and Energiewende and the website ecology.at. Between 1996 and 1998 he also worked for the Viennese magazine Falter (politics and city features sections); in addition, he contributed articles and commentaries to Standard, Presse, tageszeitung (taz), Welt am Sonntag and others.

In October, 2000, his book 'Prost Mahlzeit! - Essen und Trinken mit gutem Gewissen' was published by Deuticke Verlag and was elected among the 'Top Ten Books for the Future' by the Robert-Jungk-Bibliothek für Zukunftsfragen.

2001, the Black Book on Brand Companies was published by Deuticke and reedited in 2006 by Ullstein. The book was to name those who are responsible for unscrupulous business practices and human rights violations. More than 150.000 copies were sold in various languages.

2005 has been published the Black Book on Oil (together with Thomas Seifert).

2008 will be published his new Book The world belongs to us. Power and Racketeering of Multinationals and Millionaires by Hanser.

Klaus speaks German, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. He is currently living in Vienna and Brazil.
